Resume Tips
Create a winning resume by following the below guidelines:
- Include contact details
- List your qualifications putting the most recent at the top. Ensure you include the institution name,
the resulting qualification, i.e. degree or Certificate and the date it was completed
- Provide details on work history and experience by indicating company name, position, dates of employment and achievements
- Include a summary of Career Highlights which emphasises your key career achievements
and core skills relating to the specific job you are applying for
- Provide details of two to three referees who are happy to talk to a prospective employer
- Format your resume so information is easy to find
- Ensure attention to detail by checking you have correct spelling, appropriate grammar and no typing mistakes
- Keep it simple and short, a resume should only by 2-5 pages long.
Interview Tips
To get to the interview stage generally means that the prospective employer has viewed your resume and is interested
in you so be confident and take this opportunity to reinforce the details in your resume and give an insight into your personality.
- Research the company thoroughly and have a very clear understanding of what service they provide, what procedures they have
in place and what their organization structure is
- Address the job specification criteria and use solid examples of ways you have fulfilled these from previous employment
- Think about some relevant and insightful questions to ask.
